1979 Ferrari 312T4 1:18 Scale: Winner,U.S. Grand Prix at Long Beach |
| By early 1979, the Ferrari Flat-12 F1 cars had already secured the world title twice; in 1975 and 1976. The 312 T4 was Enzo's difficult answer to the winning ground effect racing cars pioneered by Lotus in 1978. Even though the Williams FW07 gripped the track better, and the Renault Turbos were faster, the evolution of the Ferrari Flat-12 (515 bhp at 12,300 rpm) gave it the championship edge.Incredible detail! Our precise 1:18 scale model is an accurate reproduction of this classic Ferrari monoposto.Special features include a removable cowling to showcase an unprecedented level of furious detail: fully wired and plumbed flat-12 engine, real wire mesh over 12 velocity stacks, water and oil cooling radiators in photo-etch, fully detailed cockpit, all simulated aluminum tub with auxiliary fuel tank, pipes, hydraulic hoses, electrical wires and much more.Functioning features include: true-to-the-original suspension system with genuine coil springs and mechanical links, sophisticated steering mechanism, and rotating disc brakes. With this new miniature, Exoto brings you more than a replica: we bring you a reproduction of the real thing! |

1979 Ferrari 312T4 50th Anniversary 1:18 Scale |
| In 1979 Ferrari contested the Formula One World Championship with their 312T4. Though not the last, the 312T4 was without a doubt the ultimate evolution of the 3-litre Ferrari flat-12 motor. The 312T4 is rarely referred to as a thing of beauty but the shape of this Championship winning racer is unquestionably functional and purposeful. Inspired by the Lotus 79, the entire chassis and body is designed to act as a giant wing with a vast undertray, sliding skirts, and a broad flat upper surface.Ferrari's greatest challenge was placing their wide engine into the new chassis. Up until then the flat-12 engine had an advantage because of it's ultra-low center of gravity. Now, however, the entire engine would have to be raised to permit sufficient airflow beneath the car, unlike the Ford-Cosworth competition with their V-8 engines. No longer was the low center of gravity an advantage for the Scuderia. In it's first outing at Kyalami, South Africa, drivers Jody Scheckter and Gilles Villeneuve led the field home in a 1-2 finish. By the end of the 1979 season the 312T4 propelled the dynamic duo to six overall victories, good enough to earn Scheckter and Ferrari the World Drivers and Constructors Championships! The 1979 Ferrari 312T4 goes down in history as one of the great achievements in Formula One engineering: a 3-liter winner amidst turbo-charged competition. |

Porsche: Excellance Was Expected: 3 Volume Set |
| When the first edition of Porsche: Excellence Was Expected was published in 1977, reviewers sang high praises for author Karl Ludvigsen and his monumental book. Now Ludvigsen surpasses these achievements with this fully updated edition of Porsche: Excellence Was Expected. This new edition includes augmented and edited versions of the 32 chapters from the 1977 book, as well as an additional 29 chapters that cover Porsche's history through 2002. This three-volume, 1,566-page set contains the photos and artwork from the original version, enhanced by over 742 new black and white photos and 50 new color drawings of Porsche production and racing cars which were commissioned specifically for this updated edition. Author Ludvigsen has outdone himself in presenting the inner workings, masterpieces and failures of an independent automaker that has exerted a disproportionately powerful influence on the automotive industry. If the first edition of Excellence Was Expected was 'the definitive archetypal marque history, ' (Michael Scarlett, Autocar) this revision and update is much more so. Ludvigsen's masterwork is once again set to achieve new milestones, just as the company it chronicles continues to shape our very definition of the term 'sports car.' |

Shadow of Greatness Print |
| '...The Shadow Of Greatness!'To reveal a subject's personality, mood or story with a light touch, artists sometimes bring together the opposing forces of shadow and color. Such blending of contrasts is used to profound effect in '...The Shadow Of Greatness!' - a painting that speaks volumes about the legacy left to Dale Earnhardt Jr. featuring four different interplays between subject and reflection. |
